Ah, bad thieves. They provide constant amusement with their antics for all the rest of us to enjoy, making us feel a little less infuriated by the ones who are good at what they do (the sods). This time, its a thief in Mexico who stole a gold bracelet off an 8 year old girl.

When he saw police arrive in a patrol car, he decided he only had one course of action, and that was to swallow the bracelet. Except if you want to do that and GET AWAY, you probably shouldn’t admit that you did swallow it, should you? Well, that is exactly what he did – after all, he couldn’t deny he had stolen it, but the thought to say he had thrown it away probably escaped him.

Now he finds himself in a… uh… ‘mess’. He’s in jail, being given laxatives to try and ‘release’ the treasured bracelet after an x-ray revealed it in his stomach. When it does emerge, someone (and an unlucky someone at that) will be required to valuate it – I hope they rinse it off a bit first!

Seems his punishment will depend entirely upon this valuation: sentences range from fines or 6 months in prison all the way to 15 years in the big house.

Now, apart from all of that idiocy, what kind of thief needs to steal a bracelet off an 8 year old girl? Its a bit like having a boxing match with someone’s grandmother and then bragging about how you knocked her out…
