Usually if you don’t pay a bill, whatever it was for is liable to be repossessed. Dont pay your mortgage, your house gets taken. Miss a few car loan payments, bang, there goes your car. If its a credit card they simply go into your house, look at what you have, halve its real value and use that as a figure to tot up with until they have the amount you owe them. So what happens if you fail to pay medical bills?

Well, one German woman found out the hard way (read ‘excruitiatingly painful way’). When she failed to pay her dentist’s fees for work he did, due to her company’s insurance not paying out as expected, the dentist in question decided to sort it all out…

One day he ‘popped round’ to her house, forced his way in, tied the poor woman down, forced her jaws open and set about business – removing the two bridges he had put in a few weeks earlier. She ended up with a lot of pain and ended up going to the police, who prompty let the sod off and didn’t charge him. They claim they’re ‘investigating’ him for theft and assault, but the bigger matter to him will be the investigation being undertaken by the dental association he is a member of.

So, next time you forget to pay a medical bill, just make sure it isn’t for something like a heart transplant – or some nutter will come round and go all mad scientist on you!
