eBay has thrown up some random oddities over time, from people trying to sell other people, limbs, organs and more over the internet auction site, but now it may have just taken a step up now that there is an entire life on sale.
Its all because of a man in Australia, originally from Britain, who has just gone through a break-up with his wife. In a bid (ahaha) to ‘have a clean break’ and do it properly, he decided to auction off his life to the highest bidder.
Included are such things as his house, his car, motorbike, jetski, even a two week trial at his job which is open to becoming a permanent fixture. His friends are even for sale, in that the winner would get to meet them and have their help in settling in and getting accustomed to their new life.
The reasons for all this are that everything in his life currently is entwined with memories, so he says, and that it is the perfect way to make a clean break. He claims he will simply pick up his passport, walk out of the door with only his clothes on his back and his money, go to the airport and get on the first plane to anywhere to start his new life.
I hope it works out for him in the end, and that whoever ends up buying this person’s ‘life’ does something useful with it!
