Yes, its another fail from across the pond (this means you, America). I knew people over there watched way too much TV but come on, this is just rediculous.

CSI, known for being so detatched from reality that it couldnt get further away even by wearing a pink tutu and singing the Azerbaijani national anthem, has inspired one man in his quest for… well, death. A storyline that once featured a man killing himself with a gun attached to helium balloons has been repeated, except with slightly less polish to the end result.

The idea, of course, was to make the gun float away and make it look like someone else had murdered the person in question, rather than them committing suicide. In the TV show, it worked great. In real life, you need to not be a moron in the first place to pull it off.

Ultimately, the elaborate plan, involving driving to New Mexico from Texas to insinuate a kidnap, putting gaffer tape over his own mouth and even modifying the gun to make it as light as possible to float away, failed miserably when the gun got no further than a nearby tree which it snagged on. Yes, the man managed to shoot himself, but that isn’t exactly hard, especially when you live in a country where they give away guns with Happy Meals.

The reason he did all this is because he lost money on the stock market. Now this is a weak enough excuse in the first place, but the really tragic thing is that he leaves behind a widow and a child. All this to get his own way and make it look like it was someone else. If you can’t face up to your own actions, then don’t do them, simple as that.

To be honest, this guy deserves ridiculing because of a) his stupid idea copied from a TV show b) losing enough money to consider suicide in the first place and c) failing in his stupid idea.
