I think I’m living in the wrong country. The reason is that in Italy, this year they have decided to give away 40kg of fine beluga caviar to the poor of the city of Milan after it was seized in November during a raid.
According to the customs officers, it was snagged when two Polish couriers were caught with it coming across the border. It is a controlled commodity, as the sturgeons which produce it become more and more endangered.
Now, I’m no big fan of caviar at all, but I wouldn’t mind receiving some for Christmas. I could sell the stuff, for instance, and go and buy myself some pies, which I do like – a lot.
