Ah, bless those Americans, always there to provide us with some hilarity during the day. Texans are even better, which makes this story all the more funny.

A group of friends were playing poker and drinking in one of their houses – nothing unusual there, you might say. But when one of them got an itch on his back, he made the night one to never be forgotten.

To solve the itch to end all itches, the man decided to scratch it with an implement… his revolver. Needless to say, the gun went off, and he ended up shooting himself in the back. When he went through to tell his friends, they didn’t believe him until they saw the blood, whereupon they took him to hospital.

From the sounds of it, he didn’t receive any life-threatening injuries from it, which I think he can count himself lucky for! Reports don’t mention whether he managed to get rid of the itch in the end.
