This is what it would sound like. For those of you who don’t know, Cannibal Corpse are a death metal band who just love their dark, gruesome, macarbre and mostly unintelligable lyrics, so much so that they have been doing it for 20 years. Such lyrical topics routinely involve dismemberment, death, mutilation, sex (usually brutal sex) and cannibalism (well duh), along with a healthy dose of any other horrific topic they can crowbar in.

According to the band it is all intended as a bit of extreme entertainment and nothing more, kind of like horror movies, but that doesn’t stop them getting slammed frequently by various politicians. This video is down to the fact that Cannibal Corpse were banned entirely in Australia for a good many years – you couldn’t even watch them play live. So, how do you demonstrate that the lyrical content is as pure as the driven snow? You rip out the music, whack in some gentle lounge muzak and boom, there you go. Instant Lounge Metal.
