A while back I posted a story about a man in the US who paid for a new truck with coins – well here is an even better one. A landlord who is sick of the higher taxes he has to pay because he rents properties out rather than living in them decided to waste a little bit of court time when he was ordered to pay the $21,000 bill.

He got a large bin, filled it with 21,333 dollar coins and then took it to the court to pay his taxes. According to the judge in the case, they are only obliged to refuse payment if it is made in pennies, so it looks like he made his point.

The only thing that strikes me is that this is probably why the taxes are higher – complaining by wasting even more of their time is a bit like asking for those tax rates to increase even further!
