Yes, you heard right, a man rescuing a bear! Don’t ever say I don’t get some weird stories on here!

It all happened when the bear wandered into a residential area, driven by the need to feed. Wildlife marshalls were soon on the case, and before long they decided to tranquilise the animal with a dart gun so they could safely move the bear back to its more natural habitat. Ah, but that is where things went wrong!

The bear, upon being shot, managed to run off towards the sea away from the people attacking it. Except, as you can imagine, a 26 stone bear won’t be swimming very well after having just been sedated.

As the tranquiliser was kicking in, that is when another of the wardens (literally) dived into action. He dived in after the bear and swam out to it, and in his own words, “He was losing function in his arms and legs and was obviously in distress.” That is when he grabbed it and swam for shore, with the occasional scratch and struggle from the bewildered and struggling bear.

Having safely got the beast to shore, it was loaded up and taken back into the wild to recover. Apparently it suffered no injuries, which it should count itself lucky for! Well, if it wasn’t a bear.
