eBay is good for finding many things – cheap DVDs, weird gifts to give to people and even used cars – so it should be no surprise that on a similar service in Mexico you can now find assassins for hire!

eBay itself has a history of banning certain items from sale, such as body parts or organs, people and anything else morally dubious. So quite where these ads are popping up is a mystery, but what they’re offering isn’t. One ad mentioned the fact that the hired killer is ex-military, and will offer a ‘discreet, professional service’ – I don’t know whether that means he uses a silencer or whether he takes the victim out to dinner first.

The prices can be as low as US$6,000, but the killers aren’t the only ones advertising as the people requiring their services are also putting ads up on the sites. All of this stems from Mexico’s seemingly endemic problems with organised crime and serious violent crime, but of course a lot of it could be fake, posted by 13 year-old boys with nothing better to do.

Either way, if you need someone ‘erasing’ from the picture, look no further than Mexico!
