I was routing round the webbernets the other day when I came upon a few videos of some of the weirdest goals you can find, so I thought I would share them with you, the unwashed masses.
This is a goal by Sweden against Iceland in a Euro 2008 – it seems that the Iceland team thought the whistle had gone for a penalty due to the handball, when it didn’t – leaving the wiley Swede to slot in a goal. The match ended 5-0 to Sweden.
A good old-fashioned halfway-line belter in the US MLS league. ‘Nuff said.
This shows what you can do if you are a sneaky little so-and-so. Watch his ninja skills as he hides behind the goalkeeper to poach a cheeky goal.
And finally, a goal from the golden age when shirts had no sponsors, footballers had big hair and their WAGs were in the background where they belonged. This could still have gone wrong though, and imagine the roasting they would have got if they had ballsed it up.
