A couple in America are trying to sue a zoo for US$10,000,000 for what they call ‘psychological trauma’ after they were stuck in a cable car ride for the almighty total of 5 hours. They were rescued by emergency services (along with the other passengers of the ride) of course, but there is just no pleasing some people. Maybe the added factor of a baboon enclosure 100 feet below them (gasp) was just too terrifying.
They also claim that they “didn’t know if they were going to survive” and “that it risked her pregnancy”. What do I have to say about these claims? UTTER BULLCRAP. Its just a baseless lawsuit to grab some headlines and some money, and they know it. If you were pregnant, or had a pregnant significant other, would you go on a ride which you were unsure as to whether you’d LIVE or not? Just because the thing stopped doesn’t mean it is going to spontaneously collapse in on itself, so it was just as safe as before.
Anyway, if people get US$10million every time they undergo a few hours of ‘psychological trauma’ then why haven’t I got any money. I mean, my drive to work each day is just a pain, wheres my moolah?
