When you’ve spent all your money on a night out getting drunk so you cant afford a taxi and then find yourself too drunk to get home, what do you do? A man in Sweden has a solution: row home!

He was in Denmark drinking where he ended up getting stuck because he didn’t have enough money left for the ferry back home to Sweden. This is when he hatched his brilliant scheme. He nicked a dinghie and began to row the boat the 5km across the straits separating Sweden from Denmark, but it went a tad wrong. The fact that he was drunk and probably pretty knackered didn’t enter into his head until, well, I don’t think it entered his head at all!

Inevitably he ended up falling asleep in the boat, to be found later by the Danish coastguard who returned him to Denmark to get the ferry back when he had recovered his senses.

What makes all this the more rediculous is that the sea he was rowing across and got stranded in is a shipping lane, and a busy one at that. Guess its the last time he should follow one of his bright ideas!
