George W Bush is everyone’s favourite man to hate nowadays. Even though the man looks at times like he would have trouble tying his own shoelaces, whilst at other times being labelled as the mastermind behind all the world’s evils, that doesn’t stop it. So, no surprise that some San Franciscans have thought of a unique way to honour him when he leaves office in January 2009.

The plan revolves around the tradition of naming buildings and so on after ex-presidents, but it isn’t a library or hospital they want to name after the ‘great man’, its a sewage works!

The great idea came about due to the parallels you can draw between Bush and the sewage plant, mainly the mess the US has now found itself in after his stretch in office which will need cleaning, much like the purpose of the plant. You could get more graphic (and abusive) along these lines, but lets not, eh ;)

Obviously, the Republicans far and wide are condemning it as ‘a waste of time’ (and thats the nice ones), typically taking the stand all politicians do and comment on the act itself rather than the reasons for it.

The proposal will need over 7,000 signatures on a petition before it can then be put on a ballot sheet during the election in November, which will then need the backing of the majority, so its doubtful that it will ever make it to becoming an actual act of law.

Still, wonder what we could do with Blair and Brown. I can think of a few, such as the Blair Theatre (seeing as that was all he was, an actor) and the Brown… uh… OK, I can’t think of anything for him. He’s just crap.
