How would you like to live in a place where opera is banned, where the circus is blocked and ballet is deemed wrong?

Unfortuantely I don’t think that there is anywhere like that left in the world, now that the new Turkmenistan ruler has repealed laws banning these things.

Saparmurat Niyazov, who was ruler of  Turkmenistan for 21 years died in 2006. He banned opera, ballet and the circus during his rule.  The new ruler, Kurbanguly Berdymukhamedov has now announced a new renaissance and is going to reopen the opera, call in the clowns and other such things.

If you were the ruler of a country and had complete authority, what would you do?  Put clowns on the dole?
