Ah, Australia – home to most of the world’s most venomous snakes. Its the kind of place you’d think you would check for snakes when out in the wilderness (or bush, or countryside, whatever you want to call it). Well, one tourist didn’t – its always them isn’t it?

When a man felt the call of nature (ahem) while driving through Queensland near the town of Laura, he decided to ‘go’ by the side of the road.

But when he squatted down (I presume it wasn’t a ’stand-up’ job) he got a lot more than he had bargained for. A snake nearby saw the man’s penis dangling and decided to attack him, biting him on the penis.

Doctors wrapped his member in cling-film in order to stop any possible venom spreading before he was taken to hospital. They found no traces of venom as the snake had simply bitten him and not injected any. He stayed in overnight with vomiting and stomach pains, and no doubt a bruised ego. In the end though, all he came off with was a wound and a very interesting story to tell…
