A hundred 6th year students at a school in Scotland (year 11 here) have been sent home for turfing the floor of their common room on their final day of school. Apparently they had been drinking too, which didn’t help their case.
“There was evidence that some pupils had been drinking and given the size of the year group the head teacher has had no choice but to send all of them home, both for their own safety and to avoid any disruption to standard grade exams under way today.”
Now that doesn’t make sense to me. If you suspect some of the pupils of drinking, you drag them into the headteacher’s office and yell at them until they fess up or you can smell the booze on their breath. As it stands, everyone got their final day off school – just what they wanted!
This goes to show that the bigger your school stunt, the more time you get off. As stunts go, turfing the entirity of a floor of a room is pretty damn good. The school are now claiming it will cost hundreds to rectify the damage – oh, the inhumanity.
