Ah, those Ruskies, they will always find a way to entertain us with their drunken antics (which is more than I can say for the Scots, who just offer you a punch in the face). This guy is a world class high jumper, a former world junior champion no less – so when he was ‘pepped up’ on a combo of vodka and Red Bull, it must have been for a good reason. Like to uh… get pissed. Anyway, this story wouldn’t be complete without a video, would it?

I still don’t know what is best about this video – him attempting to stand still for all that time with everyone laughing, him trying to get his pants off and failing without assistance from someone else, or him eventually getting up the courage to make his final jump, getting all the way to the bar and then hopping about half a foot in the air before belly flopping onto the mat. Hilarious!

Oh, and since alcohol isn’t actually a performance enhancing drug, it isn’t actually banned by the athletic authorities… Meaning all that he got after all this was a quiet word and being told to not continue with the event!
